RONNIE AMONG JUDGES TO CHOOSE WINNER IN SWEDISH SIGN AWARDS
Just who is going to take home the prize in this year’s Swedish Sign Awards will be partly decided by our colleague and architect Ronnie Forsberg. Together with two fellow jury members he will be assessing the final entries based on clarity, graphic sharpness, placement and technical execution.
“I believe signs are an essential part of a building’s function and an expression of the environment they represent. They can both elevate and drag down the overall mood of a place”, he says.
The Swedish Sign Awards competition is organised each year by Ljusreklamförbundet in collaboration with the magazine Ljuskultur. The purpose of the award is to highlight the quality designs of illuminated signs throughout Sweden. In addition to Ronnie Forsberg, the jury includes Viveca Rosencrantz, Architect at Fojab Architects and Jan Møller, Senior Creative at Identity Works. The award ceremony will take place this autumn.
The five nominees are Barbaresso in Malmö, Misshumasshu in Stockholm, Hallarna in Halmstad, Sjömagasinet in Torsby and Stigbergets Fot in Stockholm. Their entries can be seen at Ljuskultur.se.
“I think all five entires are great examples of modern illuminated signage design. It’s going to be a tough decision,” concludes Ronnie Forsberg.
